How much $$$ in food each week

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i feed mainly cocktail shrimp.... I found a grocery store that sells it for 1.50 a bag.

other than that we just suplement with normal fish foods. (pellets)

I'm afraid to break it down by week. I just got in a regular frozen food order that runs $165. I spend about $75 a month on live foods. Dry foods come in 50 lb lots for the most part. I just refilled my 55gal bins with about 350lbs of dry crumbles, pellets and sticks. Flake foods are ordered in mixed lots of 30 to 50lbs at a shot. I also hit the local food stores for shrimp and fresh produce/meats for around $50/month. I also fish and keep 'trash' fish like buffalo, sunnies, and shad to feed out my larger preds and matamatas.

You are an Idol.

I'd say I spend about $15/week. It should go down though soon once I get a couple of my guys off feeders.

i have thought of raising my own feeders like shads would that be possible??

Anything is possible. If you have a lake with a high DO and a huge spillway or riverfront rights and raceway cages, raising shad shouldn't be a problem.

god damn oddball.. and i thought i had it bad

where can we get feeders by the lot... thats all my allies will eat:swear:

Live foods would normally run me about $150/month. But, the regional distributer of bait minnows is right between my home and work. He lets me fill my buckets at cost because I helped him through a bloat outbreak in his raceway holding tanks.

For me not so sure, but probably around 10 dollars a week, but it's about to go up cause i'm thinking about getting some juvenile monsters.:naughty:
