How much is a 2 foot red tail catfish worth?

well said but its too easy for people including me to impulse buy... i managed to shift the few ive grown out but where are they now, only two of the 4-5 ive had i know went to goodish homes in monster tanks above a 180! they still werent big enough really. ones in an 8x3x3 and the other a 8x3x2. they should be banned or at least regulated along with a few others...

such a cute fish such a sad truth that 99 percent will die, i read somewhere theres now a law in the uk that we can report people to the rspca for miss treating fish is this true anyone?
 
One of my lfs's is trying to sell a 2' achara cat. The only reason he hasnt sold is that they require you to prove that you have a 200+ tank. Unfortunately other stores dont do this and people end up having 2' beasts in their 55s. It's a sad world for commonly sold monster fish.

Is a 630 gallon stock tank ok ??? I think so...He is in a 60 until Monday because my 180 gal had a slow leak but all of a sudden it started pouring out water so when my order of heaters come in on Monday I will be placing him out of the very temporary 60 gal into a 630 gallon temporary stock tank

and chill out you guys didn't think I would get flamed for asking a simple question I have absolutely no intentions on selling my RTC at all I was just curious that's all don't worry I have plenty adequate room to keep him
EDIT: and BTW I am in the US

and the 'are you' bit was a generalised 'at the reader' comment if you know want i mean. sorry for the derail...

Nice link! First time I see it and I am glad something like this is out there. I knew UK laws were advanced in terms of aquatic pet protection but nice to see the specifics. Is this a proposal or an adopted legislation?

Very sad. As most would agree, a 2' achara needs at least an 8'x4'-5' footprint. That LFS IMHO does not know what they are doing. They appear to promote inadequate housing for large fish.
