Until it gets around a foot to 14 inches you could keep a giant gourami with one for life my favorite is the red tailed giant gourami

Until one looks like it could easily fit in the aros mouth, id say 2-3 more months

I currently have my 1yr old 10" GG alone in his own tank & waiting for my 5" albino silver aro to get a bigger before putting them together. My GG is mean and would probably harm everything in the aro tank but if they were same size I'm thinkng it would be a better match. In your case the aro is larger, keep them together as long as you can i guess until too much aggression. If those aren't GG then could be good dither fish, maybe even better since you have 4.

I would get the gourami out now. I think it's just the angle, but it looks like the arowana can fit the gourami in it's mouth right now. Either way, it's safer to move it sooner rather than later because later might be too late

Thanks but I think I’ll wait for a bit, there are no signs of aggression between them.

Well i'll tell you this: there was no signs of aggression in my tank. Some algae eaters and a bala shark simply went missing. Then one day i caught the aro with a fish tail hanging out of the corner of it's mouth...

He will not fight the gourami, he will hunt it. And one day you'll just be wondering where the gourami is hiding ?
