How much PRIME do I add when using a python water changer?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i dose the whole tank volume, so in your case id add a 65 g worth. it says this on the prime website.. here ill find it

Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 200 L (50 gallons*) of new water. This removes approximately 1 mg/L ammonia, 4 mg/L chloramine, or 5 mg/L chlorine. For smaller doses, please note each cap thread is approx. 1 mL. May be added to aquarium directly, but better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. Sulfur odor is normal. For exceptionally high chloramine concentrations, a double dose may be used safely. To detoxify nitrite in an emergency, up to 5 times normal dose may be used. If temperature is > 30 °C (86 °F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.

wait, so dose the whole tank, that's a cap full and a little bit correct?

thats what ive always done, because its what the directions say.. IMO you need a little more when your not adding it directly to say a bucket.. because the remaining water in the tank will dilute the prime your adding, which is why they want you to add more to make it more effective.

now if your just using buckets, i dose the bucket with the exact amount for each bucket.
