How much salt do you put in your tanks?

I add in a couple handfulls of marine salt every now and then, spacedly.
 
I have used salt off and on for years... usually 1 tbls. per 10 gallons .... I let it go to full freshwater then re-introduce salt...
 
I would'nt mind doing a brackish tank but I'm not really sure how many attractive brackish fish there are out there. Are there many nicly colored brackish fish out there because the way our tank sits now alot of people are wowed. Our clown loaches at 7 inches are still a nice black and almost orange color and I have been told they fade when stressed. Also as mentioned earlier there have been no disease out breaks in 3 years even with new fish added.
