I have a 75 gallon tank and bought a diffuser for c02, How much sugar do I add to a 2 liter bottle, then im going to add the Nutrafin Stabilizer and activator ..thnx
Fleshy is right 1 - 2L pop bottle with Co2 is def not nearly enough for the 75G. I would have to say 1 - 2L pop bottle would be barely cutting it for a 20G. That's using a full Table spoon of Yeast and 2 cups of sugar which should last between 2-4weeks.
Also depends what sort of diffuser your using lots of diffusers won't work to well without a pressurized system. I'm a fan of the plain old ladder diffuser on the Co2 DIY's but using that on anything bigger then a 20G is also pointless.
I would be thinking you would need 4-5 2L pop bottles for a 75G which after a month you would just get fed up with the maintence you would have to do and just want to splurge for a pressurized system. Also the 4-5 Bottles doesn't even take into account that if you have any surface agitation your co2 will be very quickly out gassed. I hope your using a canister filter of some sort.
I have a red sea reactor 500 that has the vortex funnel tornado in the unit...they say it's good for 20g-120....I got 2 54 watts 6700 kelvins and am gonna add one more 54-w light if needed..
Okay so it looks like you have a half decent diffuser - not ever having worked with any Red Sea products I don't really know how "good" they work you would need to talk to someone with expirence in these products.
Lighting - Should be okay gives lets round up to 1.5 WPG which isn't to bad you should be able to grow most plants, if you do add more light just remember it will take time to be able to balance your photo period, fert dosing to control algae.
I still think you should just spend the money and go pressurized you will see way more from your co2. I can almost guarantee that your co2 isn't doing anything very noticable. In one of my tanks a few plants grow around an inch a day if not more.
