Jakob, MFK is a place where people come to share their experience and knowledge about the aquarium hobby. I for one like to come to MFK to view at all the different species of fishes that are out there regardless if they are pure or hybrid. I also come to this site to read about each individuals unique experience and share my knowledge about the hobby if I can.
Each species are unique and are beautiful in their own right. Negative comments just brings down the hobby not for just the people visiting this site but also to other people who wants to start this hobby. Just as Midasman714 mentioned, if you don't like hybrid fishes don't come on hybrid section.
Please keep negative comments to yourself. Negative comments do not belong in MFK.

Yeah have some respect if you dont like quit coming here and bashing our favorite fish..It's funny you never see us come to the other forums just to be rude

Yeah you don't go to other forums to bash their fish because they are the best fish and you know it!! Guys seriously, making this thread was like asking all the hybrid haters to come here and share their opinions.

This arguing bashing over the hyrbird stuff seriously needs to stop, dont like it stay out of it. This is not a debate over hybrids sections or i hate hybrids section its a section for hybrid owners to discuss there fish and what they like, you dont like - stay out. Simple as that. They have a right to keep the fish they want to keep just as much as anyone else. Take this as a warning....

Amen - I don't keep flowerhorns...but can admire them...and respect the people who demonstrate skill in keeping and breeding them.

Fancy fish have been the foundation of the aquarium hobby since like, uh, 200 AD (fancy koi)...and hybrids have been some of the most commonly kept fish since (fancy livebearers, bettas, gouramis, discus, flowerhorns, parrots, etc.).

Saying that keeping and breeding flowerhorns in an aquarium is "bad" because it hurts conservation of threatened cichlid ecosystems makes about as much sense as arguing that taking rare fish from the wild and housing them in your basement helps conservation of cichlid habitats...

Or that those who keep flowerhorns only care about money and not about conservation.... etc, etc.

To respond to the poll: I drop by here every now and again...

Yeah Jako you should really just stay out of this forum since none of us like you anyhow. I'd like to point out in your last terrible thread that got closed I got a infraction for calling you a d-bag, so you should probably just stay out of these parts so I can keep my infractions down.

kthanx now gtfo..

Did you ever stop to think that the poll was for people who use the hybrid forum since that's where it was posted genius? Go share your opinion with Jakob somewhere other than here. You two need to go jam out with your clams out somewhere else.

I'd assume that your Betta is a wild type, and not one of the "plastic" long-finned splendens/imbellis crosses sold in pet stores.

Right?

Colorful bettas are pretty cool but I would never keep one. :screwy:
