Yeah, I know its to small, and I actually recommended him a 75g since they're a little wider, but he just wants something to get by, he even asked if he could just borrow my 10g, which I use for a backup in case my sump overflows, but told him he needs something much bigger, and that the even the 38g won't be big enough before long. I also told him to find more info on the fish before he buys next time, and if planning on getting into aquariums, take your time and do a little research. I'll help him out the best I can though.

He picked up the 38g today and helped him setup. I gave him some gravel too, and hooked him up with a powerhead, hang on back filter, and nice heater. I normally leave a tank cycle for ay least a few days, but the 5g the oscars are in now is so cloudy you can barely see the fish, and they are totally dying. I told him the once the waters up to temp, and clears up, tranfer them right away. Hopefully they will survive. Then he told me he's moving in three weeks and would like a hand moving it. I JUST CANT GET A BREAK with this guy!!!
Some power tools, and 40 bucks, good deal for him considering the Marineland 660 powerhead and Aqueon 55 hang-on back filter (brand new) I hooked him up with, plus helping him set it up. I should start charging with all the tanks I setup. He phoned me a second ago and said he already put the fish in there, and the water is clear and up to temp. Oscars are pretty hardy, so I think 1 will live, the other was lookin pretty grim. Our city has some of the best tap water in the nation, some hobbyist say they don't even use stress coat or declorinating solutions.
I once had to move our 45g saltwater tank with 2 seahorses, and had to drop the seahorses into freshly brewed saltwater since its transport container started leaking badly, I was so stressed and thought they didn't have a chance. They survived! and the rest of the fish as well. The clean water must help.

Yeah, he said he'd get me back, beer would do, but I'm just happy to see he finally got an aquarium. He's been talking about getting one for years, and once we got it all setup, just seeing how happy he was to finally have a real aquarium was priceless. Ive been keeping larger, predatory fish for 10 years now and my buddy always comes over to see them eat, so now he can feed his own. He's already talking about going bigger someday, so maybe we'll have another Monster Fish Keeper. In the meantime, I'll try and get some use out of Metabo grinder and skilsaw i aquired!!!
