How much will foam compress under my glass 240???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is what the trim looks like...its the same on the top and bottom. Its thin...like 1/8" maybe....is that what you have on your 300?

Awesome thanks! I wish I would have gone 30" tall...well 30" deep too....well..36" tall and deep...and 10' long...and well hahaha

The 30" deep is a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because it looks so cool having such a large viewing area in the front.
Its a curse because you cant reach the bottom of the tank....unless you got long arms. I dont.
I had to rig up some long PVC pipe with tongs on the end just to be able to set all my plants in the gravel. Plus I had to add an extension to my gravel vac to reach the bottom.
But all and all, I am glad I made the decision to go with the 300 gallon.
I love it.

Good luck with your's and hope you post a slew of pic's to document your progress.

Well I am just a little sour that I was never able to set up my last tank at 6'x3'x2'tall. I couldnt get 3' to work...only had room for 24 deep but I am able to get 8' out of it. I am waiting till I get the tank on the stand before I start a build thread. Last time I started when I ordered the tank the thread went on for yearS and the tank never saw water...long story....

I dont really care if I cant get to the bottom...I would use tongs or get a mask and dip my head in haha. Honestly I want a tank like a zoo that would be big enough for me to get some scuba gear and sit on the bottom to feed the fish lol. But back to reality on this one I am also having doors put on the side of the canopy so I can have a little more access. The stand will be 36"tall and the canopy is 24" tall.

Yep, thats just like mine.

Here is some pics of the foam I used and also a before and after compression measurement.

Real quick in this pic is that 2/16th or 3/16th compression?
