How Much Would/Did You Pay For An Engagement Ring?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
About $250. The wife figure has her grandmas set and wanted to use the main diamond, jeweler asked what she didn't like about the set she told them and they said they could make the changes for $250.

I agree... Even though I love my ring, I didn't need anything near what he actually gave me. He went above and beyond because he felt I was worth it. I'm so proud of the ring he gave because I wouldn't have picked out what he gave me myself. I'm very proud he chose me and people can tell. :-)

Love is amazing.

My fiancee's ring cost me $1500 - which was without the center diamond. The center diamond I used the one from my grandmothers' ring with my family's blessing. The ring's value is somewhere around $2000 or so I'd say. My fiancee did not want anything big but I wanted something she would enjoy. Total weight is just under one carat which to some people isn't a lot but it was plenty for her.

I did the traditional 3 months pay.
How much did I drop, it's rude to ask😉.

My long-time girlfriend wants a Tiffany's yellow diamond, that is one of the reasons I don't see this working out.

I spent 3500 for the set, appraised at 8000. I got lucky in two ways. First, family friend is a jewelry wholesaler. Second, the ring was exactly what I was looking for and was completely custom but had been made for someone else who no longer wanted it. I got it for cost.

I think that you should have to save for the ring. It will give you time to think if this is really what you want or if it is what you think you have to do. I don't agree with the old 3 months adage, but making a sacrifice is what it is all about because you will be making sacrifices for the rest of your life once you are married.

I think I spent $2700. Granted, I was also only 18 at the time.

I spent 700 iirc, but was originally priced 1500. I too was 18 and what a freakin mistake that was
