How much would it be to build a stand for a 90g tank?

So I'm going to upgrade to a 90g+ eventually, just thinking about what I want to do.

I could either buy a full setup on Craigslist, buy a brand new tank and build a stand for it, or buy the tank only, used on Craigslist and build a stand,

Can somebody give me an estimate on how much it is to build a stand for a 90g?

Without it looking furniture quality. Id say no more then $100.

It all depends on how nice you want it. If you went with a 2x4 frame with an oak wrap and trim, probably $200 or so.

Free just go to local job site where they are building houses and help your self. Tell them Mr. Smith said it was ok. Good chance a smith works there.

Id say fom 80 to 200 just depending on the wood you use and the lumber price in your area

I built a stand very similar to that one except I didn't close any sides off (yet) I have a 6ft by 24" tank and in 2x4s and screws and paying a turd at home dpot to cut it spent about 120 or slightly less. Also got some stain, brush and right angle hardware for support included in the 120 spent.

So, I ended up paying same price more or less as a metal stand (new) BUT I can do whatever I please with my stand (height, color, doors etc)

100$ should be good for a 90 gallon simple build. If you look through my thread history I have pics of the build.

I've done stands for those size tanks w $25 of 2x4s, $15 1/4" luan + glue stain hinges and cabinet doors from habitat for humanity store all total under $75

Check out www.fishandtips.com they have a pretty cool program that spits out estimated cost, cut list, materials, and everything you need to build a stand.
