How much would you pay for $180 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey Boawie,
I've been eyeing the same tank on CL. Now if I had a place to put it (which I don't) I would probably have picked it up already. I was also thinking $800 would be a fair price. It's a VERY nice stand and canopy - furniture grade quality but not too gaudy.
Here in the Northern VA, DC, MD area everything costs more.
I paid $450 for my 180 a while back: used, simple black pine stand, no wood canopy, small defect in the glass. I'd say the one you're looking at is a deal for our area. Go for it man.

I find funny how you are all saying that's way to high. Supply and demand is different everywhere you go so "good prices" varies place to place. Like you said if its hard to find then $800 is a good deal. Large tanks are hard to find I'm cananda people have used 55g for $300-$500 stupid and 90g for $500+ anything over 100g (if you ever find them here) usually run I'm the $800-$1000+ range here. But like that Guy said you'll probably be paying around $1200 in your guys stores.

I need to spark up my fish life

My Man U can buy a brand NEW 180 wide for 600-650$. An build a stand ur self outta wood for 50-75$

I did ask one store and they quoted me between 2,000-2,500 for just a canopy stand and tank.

Its not too bad if a price. Im in va in newport news, and most complete tanks around thats size sell for around 1000. It all depends where you live some areas always have killer deals while others not so often. I lucked out a few years ago and got a 200gal for $100. It was just the tank but couldnt pass it up.

That is a great deal you got but 2 years old and I'm assuming used isn't a never set up tank. Condition goes a long way in my book.scratches are inevitable but I'd like to be the one that puts them there lol. Assuming this is very close to a new tank, stand, and canopy I'd pay 600-800 dollars. I'd try to talk him down of course but 800 is not unreasonable.

check out tanks direct .com or aqautic ecosystems they have fiberglass tanks for pretty cheap i paid a lil over 500 for mine. it had a viewing window too.

The one I got doesn't have a scratch on it they just sold it cause it was in the way and wanted it out

Folks in MD and NoVa should check out the Capital Cichlid Association (www.capitalcichlids.org).

I scored a 180g with really nice lights, glass tops, heaters, wood stand and an FX5 for $400 from a member who was moving and couldn't bring the tank.

There are around 200 folks in the club so there are always folks selling tanks, large and small....and pointing out good deals on Craigslist...like the 4' 150g I got for $60 :)

Anyway, I've never understood why more MFK folks who have fish clubs like CCA in their areas don't join...

Matt
