just got back into the hobby 1st real purchase was $800 and i wasn't expecting that at all lol...i would say up to a couple thousand as that what i have to throw around at a really amazing offer.

Most I would pay would probably be $30

reason 1. don't have much money

reason 2. pay $XXX.XX for a fish that could die just days after buying it

reason 3. of course some fish are more exotic and get bigger than others.....but they still are just fish and I don't think $1000 for any fish makes much sense (personally speaking)

Can't say how much I WOULD spend, but I'll list prices for what i DID spend on fish since March of this year when I changed the tank setup/stock.

6 common silver dollars @ $5 each = $30
5 red hook silver dollars @ $12 each = $60
4 fancy plecos: $130

-1 L-264 @ $40
-1 L-326 @ $35
2 Electric Blue Jack Dempseys @ 42.50 each = $85
3 seperate shipping charges of $16 = $48

= $353 on fish alone.

I'm happy with the current stock, so supplies will be my only expense for awhile.

it depends on the financial situation, if I had a lot of money, I'd drop big money, but right now I'd be surprised if I drop $50 on a fish
