How much would you pay for a fish??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have payed $1000,- for an asian arowana, but I won't be spending that kind of money any time soon again. Normal max is about $250,-

previously if i had the cash and wanted it i would buy it whatever the cost, now though i would not even spend £1.
the hobby of keeping fish for me is more of a pain these days but one thing that has got to me recently is the stupid costs people seem to be asking for stuff that were just a fraction of the cost last year.
i know for a fact that the costs they pay have not gone up as much as these people are claiming and i feel that we as fish keepers are being conned.
so i decided to sell all my stuff and will spend it on a nice holiday and some car mods.
so to answer the question last year i would have paid whatever it took, this year i would pay nothing at all.

the most I would spend on a fish is around $100-$200, I have no problem growing a fish up to get a monster fish rather then paying a absurd monster price...

although I am willing to pay for an Asian red...

say 1/4 of my salary

Haha.....not quite. I'm kinda cheap so I wouldn't go over $30 probably - and if I spent that much I wouldn't let people within 10 feet of my tank in fear something would happen to my precious fish

As long as I have no other expenses then theres no limit for me.

depending on what fish i want to get.
i dont have a job,so i have my limits.
but i save enough to buy a g2 red aro in abour 3 mths.
the most ive spent was i think buying two 160USD black aros.
recently i bought a gulper for 160USD.
my redtail payara was 100USD.

$1600. Panda Platinum Xback Arowana :nilly:

i have alot of 30, 40 & $50 fish and ive spent as much as $300 on one fish. If i were financially stable, i'd probably spend more.
