Gotta say that ride is nice an low!!!
I would think with the fact that it is good enough to go in detroit show,, depending upon whether or not the sale to your dad's bud is solid, you could probably put it out there for 200k and see what happens.
That car is in pristine shape, low miles I bet if you dropped it on a few sites that deal with cars like that you would definitely have a few bites and a bit of room to play the line at that price point.
I had a guy give me long distance deposit on a 54 amc on a picture, I held the car for him for 2 mths and then he came to regina and drove it home. So I would say provided the deal is not done except for price with the other guy, drop it out there for the above price. Anyone who has the scratch to buy it in this day will not baulk at and extra 10k or so.
Personally I favour old cars 1945-1970, but that is one that I would definitely drive and think of buying. To bad it was not 3 years from now, we would be talking.
I do know that there have been a few cars that I have bought over my time where I did not even blink at the price and gave the dude what he wanted because it was what he wanted and it was no where what was in the vehicle.
