How much would you pay for this tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its Canada. Everything is more money here. With all the stuff included. I'd say 1500-2000. Since I k ow the demograffics better. He is going to ask a lot co side ring there is nothing else like that around.

How much would something like it in your area cost new? That seems to be the most logical way to approach this. Everyone can have their own theories and ideas for their neck of the world, but you know your area of the world. Surely there are a few companies you could contact to see how much something similar would be. Then ultimately, how much do you really like it? How much are you willing to pay.

Not much need for tanks like that, I see them ask reasonable prices then realize there isn't much for large fish tanks in Ontario and end up just getting a slap in the face and 800-1000 after a couple months of turning those offers down.

If your close and have a way to transport show up to "look at", offer 900 cash right there and you will pick up and do all heavy lifting ect. ASAP

Depending on the tank condition, I would offer $1500 at least. Large big tanks prices have gone up in the last few years. It all depends on how quick the seller needs to get rid of the tank and how much money you want to cough up.

Id say quality is everything and it sounds like some high quality parts. Starphire glass is a nice upgrade especially on that thickness and it doesnt sound like many expenses were spared. Assuming that is true id be surprised if it went as low as 2000. Sure you can buy a glasscages aquarium for 20% the cost of an elos aquarium, but depending on you and your taste/budget one may sound like a great deal and the other not so much.

Basically sounds like a very nice, likely high end setup and you shouldnt let other peoples finances and opinions dictate whow you spend your money. If you are happy with the aquarium and can get it for a value reasonable to you, get it

Set the absolute max price you would pay for it, and then offer 500 less. Negotiate without going over and don't be scared to walk away. If there isn't a big demand for tanks of this size, he will come down in price if he fears losing the sale. Only downside is that if someone else shows interest, you can lose the tank. But like someone mentioned, tell him you can have it out of there pronto and he doesn't have to worry about any of the moving except for moving your cold hard cash into his wallet, lol. Good Luck.

Apparently from what he said is that he had it custom made from japan for $4000 and the stand made for $1200, plus all the other stuff. What do you guys think? Still offer him $1000?

that's on him, tanks don't hold value like that if he thinks he's going to walk away with 4k. 1500 is the max.
