Yes I was asking you. Sorry, new to the site. Thats great. I used to have a 150 gallon with just a red-tiled cat and a peacock bass, but had to sell it not too long ago.

1000 dollars is great for a 125 where i come from! :(

Im in Arizona & I just bought a 55g @ Petco that came with everything and it only cost me $90+tax.
So triple that and there you go.
Right?

for those people that said "I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it"

its like..

Thats a nice 2009 bmw x5, but I wouldn't pay more than $20,000 for it

I know some of you got good deal (or amazing or unbelievable deal) before

but the majority...

keep on DREAMING!! ;)

There's a difference here. Let say the BMW price starts at $55,000. Now, someone buys the BMW, drives it around for a year and a half. When they decide to sell it, it has 150,000 miles on it and it has normal wear. The person says, "Well, I paid $55000 for it and its only a year old, so it is easily worth $50,000." It doesn't work like that.

Fish tanks appear to closely match the electronics market, we'll say speakers for example. You buy it for $100. Once you want out of the store, it is now only worth $50. Then, once you hook it up and play it, it is only worth $25. Granted there is a little variance in supply and demand, but the principle stays the same.

I would not pay, more that $200 for a 125. I would pay up to $150 for a bare tank, but you will neve get me to pay more than $100 for a cheap store bought stand. I would rather make it myself. The tank I am looking at tonight, guy wants $100 for the tank, $200 for the stand. $300 total. If he will not sell the tank and stand together for $200, then I will just take the tank. Stands are not worth $200 IMO.
