I am trying to buy a 240gal+ tank but not sure what would be a reasonable price for one...

I'd get the first one. It's much cheaper to just build your own overflow...unless, of course, the tank in question is drilled.

Sounds like these are custom made. Have them install two 2" bulkheads on the top back panel. This way you will not have two drilled holes on the bottom & the overflow I mention will not take up any of your valuable footprint. A pre-drilled tank is the way to go. You can always cap-off your bulkheads if you decide not to use a sump. It will be there if you ever need it. The re-sale value on a pre-drilled tank is also higher. You will spent ALOT MORE than $100 (plus headache) if you go for choice #1 & then change your mind to add a sump to your set-up.

I'll be paying 799 for my 240 new, undrilled, without a bulkhead. more if I decide to do the starfire glass on 2 faces. I don't think that includes tops. mine will be 72"x30"x26".

I'd pay the extra 100 to avoid the hassle, personally.
