Hahaha, I love how the momentum changes when someone thats been around for a while speaks. All I did was ask if he was from California, that turned in to others chiming in on the matter, then you speak and it totally changes the conversation. That's what I hate about this forum is all the followers of the "experts" I'm so glad I'm selling everything I own so I'm not even tempted to get on this site anymore. I'd rather spend my time on littletinybabyfish.com instead of this site full of an army of brainwashed so called "MFK"ers haha. What a joke this site is.

You make it sound just like highschool all over again...... Which it is with the whole popularity thing, BUT there are some of us here that have been here for years and will be here for years. To some of us keeping rays is a lifestyle, not just a hobby. So does that make us brainwashed so called MFKers? Or what exactly would we be? I've learned quite a bit on my raykeeping adventure, for that I feel obligated to share that knowledge with others.

There's a lot of stupid people here, no sugar coating that, but there's also a bunch of people here that make it worth coming back to everyday. There's rays here that I enjoy watching grow up. There's hobbyists I enjoy watching evolve into MFKers and there's the people that will never figure it out. Its a forum. No one will ever agree on anything. But it sure is easy to accidently learn a thing or 2.

Not sure why you'd be so bitter that you'd want to sell off everything or quit but I guess if it bothers you that bad it must not have been meant to be. Sorry to hear you're bailing man, I hope you do sell off everything and realize that you were a lil more passionate about it then you thought, and come back. Don't let the followers lead you away.

Some people don't promote things that are illegal.. that's why it kinda matters.

DB- not everyone here is brainwashed includiing yourself. There are some that have helped tremendously.

My comment hinting around about the op being in California got totally blown up by several other ppl. This is where shadowstryker (one of the guys in the click) and talks about the newbs here blah blah blah. It's nit really his comment that gets me, it's the fact that if you or vamptrev or keepinfish would've said it, it would've have been ok!

Your right about the hobby though. I enjoyed it for sometime but I realized that I miss tinkering w cars and trucks and most importantly I miss riding motorcycles. This hobby is rather inactive and doesn't require much activity and lifting weights and running/biking is a big hobby of mine too and I realized that I've gotten more out of shape than I'd like to admit. It's just that when situations like these arise, it's nice to bitxh hahaha

Oh yea, I've had a very important person on herefrom Cali show me pics of his rays and offer to sell me an Asian aro too. A lot of ppl don't care but you also have to watch out that someone's not trying to bust you

Depending on the person and how they care about the hobby. Sky is the limit.

mshill relax man , do you call the cops on every person you see speeding like come on he was asking a ? get a life

You don't get it. People get less of a fine for speeding than they do by owning an illegal fish if caught. They are illegal for a reason. Whether you think it's stupid or not is your opinion, but this forum doesn't condone owning illegal/restricted fish or selling them for that matter. Even any hint of looking for an illegal fish, and action gets taken. There are rules and laws for a reason. I can not control someone speeding, and I can't control someone in Cali selling illegal rays... that's what cops are for.. and then when they get pulled over or caught everyone can say "told you so."

Yes, the OP could move out of Cali and start breeding rays, but there are tons of people who say they are going to do things, and never do them. Kinda like they "they will get a bigger tank soon", and it just doesn't happen. The OP has a few years before he's even going to be able to move out on his own because he is fairly young.

There economy is bad, and it's going to get worse before it gets any better, and a minimum wage job just isn't going to cover a stingray breeding project.

He very well may be able to do this dream, but until he can actually put it into play, it's just an idea.

And what click might I be in? Because that is far from any truth. In fact it is quite the opposite. The only reason I don't totally leave is because I have a great passion for this hobby and rays in particular. That and I have made some friends on here, three of which I like to think you just mentioned. My comments weren't totally aimed at you but any who constantly want to delve into others business or constantly jump on someone because they ask stupid questions. I know when I first really wanted to get into rays I skulked around the ray forum but feared to ask any questions because back then it was some senior members who would jump on anyone who would ask a stupid question. So I never asked.
It just seems to me that a lot of the newer members (not just the ray forum) recently want to jump on anyone whom they feel asked questions they considered silly or stupid. That behavior doesn't benefit anyone including older members or hobbyist. It drives them away in fact. I have been in the aquatic hobby for 25 years (1986), never even new forums like these existed until 2007. So this forum has been quite an eye opener in that it opened me to all the technology and advancement that has been made in the industry. And also all the wonderful aquatic life that is available.
So when I get on the board and see some people who constantly flame others for asking a silly question, well it just gets old. That and I am a firm believer in staying out of others business.
So with that being said, for behaving as those that I was critical towards I apologize, but I don't apologize for defending those whom are the future of my hobby or their rights to ask a silly question even if they are in an illegal/restricted state.

Newb or not, a law is a law and it doesn't take experience to know that. Maybe your comment wasn't directed towards me, and maybe I'm out of line for judging you but the truth is, if other "senior" members would've said what I said that led to other comments flaming the op it would've been ok. I think that's pretty obvious to someone who's been on this forum for more than a week

It's like nothing is correct until a popular member says so. Ex- OP asks "is water wet"? Noob A says " you are correct, water is wet" but it's not actually correct until keepinfish, vamptrev, yourself etc etc confirm that water is really wet.

Haha no offense to any of them, they are popular because they have experience and are knowledgable, but regardless if someone else says something is right or wrong, it's not actually correct until the golden hand of the ray gods approve
