How nasty is a Black Nasty??

we'll to answer the question more they absolutly hate each other they will all ways fight to the death even when breeding the larger fish often turns on there mate and kills them but some strong bonds are formed when breeding useually a big male and a smaller female and then the male will attack any thing that is't it home or its bride they won't think twice about biteing you also
 
not that nasty, ive heard of a lot of people who say there not as Nasty as people say..
 
i have one in my 75gallon. its 3'', and a very very slow grower:confused:. its with a 12'' jardini, 8'' ornate, 2 3'' parrots, and 2 2'' african knives. i loves to chase the knives around but never killed anything

Mine is also a very slow grower ... I have had it for about 4 months and it has barely grown a 1/2". I have read that the females are considerably smaller then the males and grow much slower. I got it at the same time and size as my Male and Female Trimacs and Dovii and they are twice it's size already.
 
try and add much more water changes and they dont grow too slow. my little female went from 3/4" to about 7 or 8" in a year or so. they are all individuals but i can say that mine were NASTY. especially the female. the male wasnt AS crazy but had the bulk and power to make short work of most anything his size.

where did all of you buy your black nasty???? I have been dreaming of one for years now and have never found one in a store??? Rapps would be too expensive for me in Canada because I need to order like 10 million dollars worth of fish for them to ship to Canada. Any Canadians know a store that carries them??
 
i have a feeling that 50% of the people who commented in this thread have never owned an odo, i have found them to be an uncommon fish in the aquarium hobby mainly due to the fact that they are rarely sold in lfs's, rather by people such as rapps in the import game, and also i have heard from more experienced members (polomax) who has a 13" pair that they are WAY overated in aggression...:)
