How often clean FX5?

every 3 or 4 months works for me. I think every month is overkill, we buy these expensive canisters to make our lives easier. if i had to clean every month i would just have a cheaper HOB

I agree. The only time you should be cleaning it once a month, is IF it clogs/slows down flow.

When mine clogs I can hear air in it. It "sneezes and burps" to tell me its cleaning time. How long between cleaning depends on how well I cleaned it last time, how old the pads are and how well my big guys ate in the week or two before.

There are times when it sneezes after 2 weeks and sometimes it takes 6-8 before it starts sneezing.

I think it depends on feeding schedule, how the FX5 is stocked or personal preference...
In my case, it's personal preference .
