Regularly testing nitrates is definitely a good place to start. I have about 10ppm nitrates right out of the tap, so mine tend to run a bit higher than I'd prefer.

This is the safest way to decide how much and how frequent you need to do wc's...50% might be enough or you may need to do 75 % or 90%. May have to do multiple wc's per week

They're rip offs! Lol I made my own with a proper nice hose for 15$ and a gardening two way valve. What I like about the garden hose it expands when water is in it and constricts when not in use. Makes storing the hose so much easier.

Agreed. Just buy a smaller pump and a 50 foot hose then water changes take next to no time.

Go to any hardware store and buy a whole roll of tubing whatever diameter you want, cut to length you need. Under 10 bucks a roll.

I've always done 70%-75%'s
