How often do u feed your lung fish?

I feed mine massivore, mp, chicken liver, just recently chicken meat, and once in a while hikari algae pellets.

I used to feed it frozen bloodworms but now they've gotten too small for him....

He gets to eat twice a day.

I keep feeder goldfish on my tank almost always. Ive only witnessed him eat a goldfish 3 times. Although anywhere from 1-3 disappear nightly. He doesn't always eat them right away. 13feeders last about a week. He also loves pellets. I can feed him almost any insect I find at home, crickets are regular. Mine is a wal and 16" long. He is very active and a blast to watch. I definitely don't have a lazy Guy

I don't understand how at only 4 years old your lungfish are so massive. I had mine (south american lungfish) since he was born ... aka like 2"... he is approaching 4 years now and is about 10". I know tank size and feeding and cleaning are huge variable factors, but have all of you actually had it since it was "born" to know for sure that is is only 4 years old? I dont know maybe it's just me but 30" and only 4 years old seems overly huge.

that introduction keeps pestering me to post and I thought I'd reply to the previous. I have a SAL and it is about 15 inches. It started at 2 inches 2 years ago. I feed it a lot of feeders, as well as crickets, carnivore sticks, minnows, cichlid pellets and koi pellets. It eats a lot so perhaps more food would help ?Otherwise is is very undemanding and coexists fine with two endler's bichirs and a large sleeper goby.

Overfeeding (too much nutrition) is a leading cause of premature death of fish. Lungs can live a long, long life... if they don't die from too much care...

When I had my African Lung, I fed him whole, shell-on market shrimp a couple of days per week and sinking pellets once per week.

I can't imagine feeding them twice daily is anything like how they feed in nature.
