When mine were juvies in the 3-6" range I fed them 3 times a day, just untill they had all had a moderate feed. Now that they are all 12"+ I only feed them every other day, sometimes I go 2-3 days without feeding them. They get a good feed atleast twice per week, sometimes more. They would stuff themselves everyday if I let them, but it isnt necessary. The high quality foods that most of us feed these guys is enough to sustain them for several days. They arent exactly burning alot of calories in the limited space they have to move around.

Big guys once a day.. little guys I power feed them 4 times a day with water change every other day.

I truly believe they do not need to bulge for them to be full. I also think that max growth which is usually everyone's goal is acheived by having super clean water and enough food. So once a day is plenty and keep up the water changes. I do think they pass digestable food when power fed and that just translates into Amm, nitrite, nitrate.....water changes.
I find distributing the food an issue. I would like to feed only once a day, but i need to feed twice, so the mellow fishes get something also.
I feed mine twice a day as theyre onli juvies and im seing some fast growth just have to keep up with the water changes. Anyone else feed twice a day?
