Not so much you but I mean your fish. I bought a bristlenose pleco a week ago and he's about 3''. I know plecos pretty much eat all day long but this guy has littered my sand with poop! Tiny little black strands are all over the tank. I swear I can vacuum the tank out and within 8 hours there's crap all over it again.

Do your plecos crap this much?:nilly:

yes pleco's are known for being extremely messy fish, only thing worse is....lungfish, jeds thread says it all.......

ah edited the name...

My 3 footer Titanic's loads would make a Clydesdale horse jealous. I had to go to a commercial sock filter setup because of this pleco. Well, ...at least the garden has never looked better.

I don't know about plecos, but my lapradei once left a poop that stretched almost 15" across my tank

ALOT...My Angelfish left a good 6-7" strand earlier and I swear my cories cant seem to poop enough it might not be large amount but its always there, trailing behind them.
Edit: my krib is about 1.5" long and leaves consistant 5" strands of poop.

WOW, now I can't wait until my fish get bigger!

I just have a simple HOB filter but it doesn't seem to do a great job unless the debris is really small and constantly free floating. Any ideas on containing the poop problem?
