How often should I change the water in my 75g while its cycling since it has some fish in it, its been about a week and I think Ill should do atleast a 20g change but I'm not sure

like i added the water to the tank about a week ago and its still changing, I think it past the nitrite jump though and it just past the amonia bloom so I think I'm in the clear

I check the waters Ph, Amonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, and Hardness 4 times a day so if something goes wrong I can pull the goldfish and pbass out, also for future referance can you add stuff to bring down nitrates and nitrites if you have clown loaches. are they only affected by ich medicine or by all chemicals you add to the water

sounds like an awfull lot of checking the water to me. I am not a pro, like some here, But in my 75gall with lots of fish, I use chemicals and bi-weekly water changes at 25%-50% and all has been fine for the last year. However what they are asking you for is specifics. Amount and type of fish, not to mention size. Plus throw some numbers at them. Once you have painted a much better picture, you will get the best possible answer ;) Cheers dude!

I'm not going to check the water like this for ever just for abotu another week when I'm sure everything is settled in, all the fish look good tho, and I got my datnoid to eat which is good but im trying to get him off of fatheads and on to pellets or krill

You should never add fish while a tank is cycling
Your tank will get NH4 then NO2 then and not before you see NO3 should you add any fish....Many reasons why

When your tank is fully cycled however 50%+ a week and get the Dat and Pbass off of live

PS: Rid yourself of the goldies they'll be better off in a pond or coldwater (also your Ornate NEEDS a BIGGER tank)

Agreed. Dont jump the gun esp with fish like dats($) and pbass($)!!! Patience. This hobby is nothing if an excersise in patience.
50% once a week minimum and get used to it. Add fish cautiously even after the tank has PROPERLY cycled.
