How often should i feed my channa gachua??? They get fed twice a day at the moment, when i get up in the morning and then at 5pm when i eat, they have 1 frozen cube of bloodworm for breakfast and either brine shrimp or a dried and crushed shrimp + gammarus mix later on... They never leave any food, its all gone within minutes and they seem very healthy, just wanted to know other peoples gachua feeding schedules and if im feeding too often...??

From two to three times a week.

And not much.

wow i was feeding way too much!!! :nilly: if they are not fed tho even for a day they get pretty aggresive, especially the bigger 2 they have put a couple of dinks in the smallest 1's fin so bit worried about not feeding them often incase they kill them, i have another tank cycled and ready to move the bigger 1's to but i want them to pair up and i dont know which are male or female??!!!

Channa fights are common.
I feed my subtropical Channa 2-3 times a week in the summer, and about once every 7-10 days in the winter. Just feed until they have small bellies, you don't need to pack them.

As DC said, Channa needs to be fed 2-3 times a week only. They're not at all active swimmers so they'll have a bloated belly and unncessary fat deposits. Almost all Channa are aggressive. My friend was holding a wild caught Channa gachua pair for me. This was a spawning pair in the wild. In captivity the male killed the female. They're crazy little monsters :)

As mentioned I also generally feed 2-3 times a week in the summer less in the winter. I do alter that slightly depending on age, young fast growing juvies/fry could be fed more frequently with small meals once a day & skip a day or 2 a week. Big old adults who are mature and not growing are happy with once a week in the summer.

I feed mine once a day with some frozen bloodworm, I was also worried thinking are they going to starve, but Ive seen my small pair last 2-3 days on just two single bloodworm.

When adult or a decent size every few days like been said but with young id still do every day, don't worry about the odd fin rip it's part of it, it one gets very hurt then remove until it's healed then put back in
