Hey guys,

Just wondering how often do you feed your monsters? I do once a day around 9ishpm every night, but I was wondering if that is too much;

My senegal looks like hes about to explode; he can definitely skip a few meals but I dont know about the other guys;

Many thanks for any input.

I feed my "monsters" once a day.

I guess a better question is (if you dont mind me asking a question on your thread), How much does everyone feed, compared to the fish size

The monsters are fed five nights a week as for the amount ill attach a picture :) and usually krill instead of the formula 1 stuff (once a week I add in 6 large night crawlers). The community tank (Boseman rainbows , Angelfish, and pictus cats) twice a day (New life spectrum 1mm cichlid formula)

2-3 times a day. I need to feed extra to get my dorado full and to get enough food to my ray.

I know I am going to get flamed for this but I actually keep enough feeders for a few days in my tanks at a time, then I allow for a few days of fasting. My guys grow beautifully and are very healthy. I also check my feeders for health prior to picking up. and feed them a little bit each night.

Could you maybe target feed with tongs ? I feed all my bichirs with tongs helps prevent over feeding.

Iv'e got tongs but It's not needed. If I need to get the stingray food and him along I toss in some jumbo shirmp. Him and the dorado are the only ones that have large enough mouths to eat it. the cats will try but it doesn't work.

And my water quality doesn't vary that much after feeding.

I have just upped my feeding to 3 times a day. I thought feeding once a day was fine, but my fish are growing slower then it seems they should. About 18 months and my bala's are only like 5 to 6"
