I've had mine for about 15 months and he's 20". He was 3" when I got him last august... He feeds primarily on bluegill and redily eats from my hand. He's kept in a 14' 800 gallon tank. I'd like to hear about yours, what you feed and what you keep it in. I'm just looking for comparisons and to see who's got the oldest one on MFK.... Here's a pic from this morning....

800 gallons? wow. Got a full tank shot? :naughty:

That is the best set up i have seen yet..wow is that nice..i mean beautiful..gorgeous!

Very Very impressive, Can we get some more info on it, like how is it made, plywood? what is behind the wall, how do you access the plumbing and how do you clean the sand with all that stuff in there? How long did it take to build, is it glass or acrylic, are the front pieces seperated or is it one lobg piece?

Well thank you very much Liz, I'm very proud of it:) I built it last winter.

You should be very proud ... it is magnificient.. post some more pics when you can.

Well the short story goes something like this:

It' plywood, kind of.... It's actually concrete panels 5/16" thick painted with drylok.

The glass is two pieces, 3/4" thick

I hatched the idea in january and first fill was april 15th.

I'm a carpenter/ plumber/ electrician/ painter/ Jack of all trades and master of absoloutly nothing lol

If you really want to read the long story it can be found in the cichlid forum.

Be warned, the thread is 102 pages long. My suggestion would be to just go back to your childhood and just scroll through and look at the pictures lol

I love showing off, don't get me wrong, but I'd love to hear from some TSN keepers who've had their TSN longer than me lol

Thanks for the kind words!!
