I dont know what the oldest is, but it's safe to assume that many plecos can live for 20+ years.

new to pleco's, my oldest-and only- is a Sailfin pleco that is almost 2 yrs. old

Yeah that'd be my post. I'm kinda vague on their real age. I know my dog lived to be almost sixteen and I got the catfish before I got her.

I know I had the catfish in high school and that I got the plecos before the syno cats. So that would put their age at approx seventeen-eighteen yrs. old as I'm in my thirties.

I've got two royals that have to be atleast 6-7 years old and are both 6-7".

I bet stiff's XXL panaque is 20 years old or more.

I've always wondered what's the oldest Pleco that someone has kept. The longest I've heard was 11 years...until now.
