Hi, I think you are going to do what you are going to do, so I won't tell you not to. I HATE it when people don't agree with me, that's just my personality. We all do what we think is best and sometimes make mistakes and then we learn - it's a good thing.
That being said, all my tanks are totally over stocked and I'm fine with it also and my fish are doing awesome. However, I am totally over filtrated too. On one of my 125's I have 3 fluval 305, 304, 404 and 1 penguin double filter, and 2 renas. I also do water changes of around 35% each week. I may go up it to 50% as the fish are growing and I over feed cuz they are mainly babies.
So, do what you are going to do, but really think of buying better - more filtration and doing weekly water changes and also, check your water perimeters weekly. I check mine at least twice a week, but I ignore the nitrates cuz I do such large water changes, there isn't much left to do. Good luck and do water changes....I also have a ton of plants though, so it helps...
