How prepared are you for a earthquake?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's good to have those things in place....they would prove useful in a number of situations but they won't do much good if the freeway opens up beneath you or if a building falls on ya.

Earthquakes aren't nothing. Here in the Midwest we have hurricane storms and tornadoes. Oh and floods. LoL

Very! Have the means to survive with no power/transport/water for a few days at least, battery powered torch and radio (and batteries!), have a plan for where to meet family etc in the event of being separated after the event, etc etc.

Many of my friends living in Christchurch have a day-bag packed with a change of clothes and essentials ready to go at all times after the 2011 quakes. In fact we even have a website dedicated to being prepared for such things...

I lived in cali a long time and i'm not even properly prepared.

but us here in cali are used to earthquakes. and building codes are different for us than in other places that don't get earthquakes so that helps me feel better I guess

I live in California and I'm literally right under the San andres fault line. If it shifts a substantial amount then my tanks are definitely gone. We have small earthquakes around here all the time but it's not a usual for a big one but if we do, I'm not nearly as prepared as I should be.

Not at all cause it doesn't happen :D See extract :P

"There have been 3 earthquakes since 1837 that have caused some damage to Adelaide. These were in 1897, 1902, and 1954. The last of these was the smallest, but also the closest and most damaging."

Not at all, I think if I ever experience some natural disaster I will just sit there drinking and waiting lol.

like what can you do? if the earth opens up under you thats that tough luck, make the most of the good days.

Gotta love that Aussie "she'll be right" mentality :D
