It's good to have those things in place....they would prove useful in a number of situations but they won't do much good if the freeway opens up beneath you or if a building falls on ya.
i wouldnt say im ready for one but if one were to happen my family and i have everything we need to surivive for a few days if not weeks
acctually my family is kinda paranoid about earthquakes after the 1985 earthquake that happen here, my grandma lost some family members to that earthquake so yeah...
yeah it was horrible, i know my grandma starts crying when ever there is an earthquake here or she see's something on tv :/I've heard stories from my parents about the 85 earthquake.

+1Very! Have the means to survive with no power/transport/water for a few days at least, battery powered torch and radio (and batteries!), have a plan for where to meet family etc in the event of being separated after the event, etc etc.
Many of my friends living in Christchurch have a day-bag packed with a change of clothes and essentials ready to go at all times after the 2011 quakes. In fact we even have a website dedicated to being prepared for such things...

Not at all, I think if I ever experience some natural disaster I will just sit there drinking and waiting lol.
like what can you do? if the earth opens up under you thats that tough luck, make the most of the good days.
