how should i decorate my oscars tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Gravel 3", with some big Vallisneria Giganthea sprouts, mangrove wood,
in which you can wedge some plants like Aponogeton.
Oscars dont like bright lights, maybe some floating plants.

Now I dont wanna be a wise ass, but 4 foot, 220 liters,
makes 122 centimeter, and 60 gallons.

Its the absolute minimum requirement for one Oscar.
Take two and they're not gonna be as social as they would like.
An Oscar can live happy with some other species like Geophagus.

:iagree: That, and the Oscar will choose what he likes in his tank as well. You won't have the final say with Oscars most of the time, they are the interior decorators of the fish world.

Any plants are likely to be torn to bits.still, its good exercise for him.sand or gravel, they like to dig.Wood and rocks with no sharp edges, they can be skittish.

Oscars are beautiful and I adore mine, but keep in mind that they are notoriously messy eaters. Make sure that you have easy access to "vacume" the bottom of your tank!

I say fake plants it will all be good but make sure u can gravel vac the bottom!

yeah he moved all the fake plants to the back of the tank in the first week that i put him in the tank and he pushed over a skull ornament the same size as him and moves alot of gravel.hes about 20-25cm.

i feed him live fish and prawns once a month and he loves them.i might get a 6 foot tank at the end of this year but it depends if my mum and dad let me get a bigger tank because im only 14.

i might go and get live fish and prawns tonight.

lol fake plants are bad my oscars shreded them. big heavy rock if you want it to stay how you set it up. or lots of gravel and if you end up with M & F they will dig a nest and ley eggs. lol no matter what they grow FAST so maybe save the money for a bigger tank.
