So I have someone who is going to take my Pacu (Thanks!!

), I need help figuring out where to put him during the 5 day before shipping period. I am going to list my tanks and what is in them, I need advice on who to put where and which tank to put him in, my options are VERY limited here with my set-ups. I know ideally the 55g would be best but there is no place for me to move the inhabitants. So who should go where, I'm at a loss here? I don't think leaving him in the 150 is a good idea either since I really do not want to turn the heater off and not feed the other fish for that long???

150g- 1 Pacu, 1 Oscar, 4 JDs, 1 RD, 1 Midas/RD, 1 RTBS, 1 Clown knife.

55g- 2 Gold Sevs, 1 Firemouth, 1 Blue Gourami, 3 Paradise Fish, 2 Cats

29g- 6 FM Bettas, 2 Angels

14g- 1 Male betta, 3 corys

2-10g- Male bettas in each.

1-10g- QT tank

As you see, I really do not have many options here. The 10g would be WAY to small to put him in even for just 5 days.

Maybe the male and his corys in the 15g in with the FMs and and Angels then he can go in there? Or the FM bettas and Angels in the 55 and him in there?

I know neither of these are ideal...but does anyone see any other options????

Thanks guys!

Adding a pic of the Pacu, so you can see what I am dealing with here.

Ah, I didn't even think of a tub!! Dividing the tank wouldn't help since I will be turning the temp down, that would still effect the others in the tank.

THANKS!!

OH, DUH!!! I didn't even think I have a 72g troft outside, I'll just clean it up, add a filter to it and keep him in there!!

Thank you, Julia! I really hate getting rid of him, he is wonderful...but it will be a while before I can get another tank, and the rate he is growing there is no way I can keep him :( he was around 3" when I got him and that was only about 4 months ago!!

I found a better pic of him....

I have always wanted a pacu. They are soo cute. But I have been told by soo many how fast they grow and how big they get. And right now I don't have the tank for it. I feel bad for you, must be soo hard getting rid of him. It's too bad you can't get a bigger tank. :(
I love the pic, he looks so cute. I am so sorry that you have to let him go. :(

Well, they definitely grow fast that is for sure! I do hate getting rid of him so much, but I know he is going to a good home. The guy taking him is a member over at AC, and actually I think a member here too. So, knowing he has a place to go where someone is going to care for him properly really helps!! I was really getting worried about what I was going to do with him, none of the LFS around here would take him for me.

They are so cute I agree, I think their eyes are one of the most amazing parts of them, they are so unique, almost human like... I just love him!

Thank you for your thoughts Julia!! :)

Good to see someone really caring and giving away a fish when they know truly that they can't entirely care for all of its needs...I just had to "put down" a albino tiger barb i've had for a little more than a year and it was hard...and yes I used clove oil.
