What is the temp? Tank size? Water change schedule?

Yes, terrors grow slow. But it shouldn't be that slow. If you want to speed growth (which I personally don't recommend) bump the temp to about 84, have it alone in a large tank with a constant drip filtration, and feed almost continuously.

And I've personally had a 13" male GT.

Well...with this past summer being HOT, I turned off my heater and the temp. ranged anywhere from 87-92 degrees Farenheit. Right now the temp seems to be steady at 82-84 degrees. I placed him in a 20g when I first got him. He's now in a 75g. He's probably been in there for a month now. I do regular water changes, usually 50%

Usually its 1/2" or less p/month.

Feeding high protien foods with lots of B12 and or Caroteens will improve his looks.
