Yes. They'd clog up in a matter of hours or days. 100-200 is a good compromize between removal of floaties and maintenance intervals.

Is it the same as polyfiber?

yeah its just polyester padding thats used to fill quilts, i just bought some from wally world, havent put in my cannisters, but will be in this weekend. btw it was only 7 bucks for 81 in x 94 in role..
