how to add water to the tank using a hose. dechlorinator question~

im just wondering, how to properly add water from tap to a fishtank. What i do is use a 1.5inch hose which fills the tank super quick (i only do this after a big water change like 30%.) then after its filled and the bubbles are everywhere, i put in my dechlorinator. is this safe? im just wondering how people with pythons and such add their dechlorinator without using buckets, i dont really see any other way then how i do it.

My method is to empty add Prime then refill. So far so good.

Matt i would change and add the chemical first. Personally I don't use anything in my water. But if you are going to then add it first because if you think the water need to be dechlorinated then the fish have already started taking it into there system.

As soon as I start filling my tank with my python I add my prime directly into the water flow, that way it gets mixed in evenly as quickly as possible.

Add Prime before refilling. Or right after. Or during. It really doesn't matter, unless you have chloramines.

When you add the dechlorinator doesn't really matter, chlorine and chloramine are not fast acting. I fill my tanks and then add the dechlorinator. So as long as you don't wait a few hours you will be fine.

i just dont want my bacteria being wiped out every time i fill my tank. how long does it take chlorine to kill the bacteria?
