I have heard good things about 3M 5200 but have never used it myself. It is available online through Lowe's I believe. It's not that I dont believe people that have not been there, it's just that I have discovered that many times they are repeating something they have read and believe it to be true. I remember not that long ago we thought that liquid rubber could be used by itself to seal a tank and viewing window. We couldn't have been more wrong.....

What about 3M 101?

I was on a sailing forum where they recommended the 101 over the 5200 for hull repairs. I guess its more of a sealant then a adhesive.

Below are some options I found. Let me know what you think.

With the 101 you still need to know if it will adhere to acrylics and is it safe for fish.

Could you use the 3m 5200 to waterproof the wood with also? They sell it in 5 gallon buckets for about the same price as the liquid rubber.

Sounds good. I think I'm going to do the same. I was just avoiding silicone because I didn't know there were silicones that adhered to plastic.

I have used 3m 5200 on my 180gal, and now my 330gal. As of right now its my #1 choice. Homedepot sells it to.

Funny, boat forums I am on recommend 5200!
