a tiger SN is just as good at eating other fish my friend i have both and my TSN is way faster and more aggressive than my rtc and i think in general tsn are more aggressive feeders compared to the slow and calm RTC's , i can hand feed and pet my RTC and my TSN will try and swallow my hand and he has tried and he hits hard!!! there both great fish! just make sure they have there space with other large tankmate or should i say pondmates lol good luck

Get a lima shovel nose. They're much smaller and less aggressive. I love mine. :)

Rtc are like oscars everyone loves them and thinks they are cool for a couple months then they realize they have a one fish tank. And everything else is a snack. Don't get me wrong I love rtc but they grow fast and are bottomless pits. I had one in with my red war slider for a few to grow out and in 3 months it was trying to swallow my turtle!

If you don't have the room and ability for about 1400 gallon pond you should avoid tsn and rtc their growth rate is phenomenal

I made a rather large purchase at my LFS lst week and the store keeper gave me an RTC. I was standing by the tank every time I walked in, plus the fact that he had them on sale (which means he got a deal on them). I really appreciate the gift. right now he is about 4 inches. The minute he hits 7-8 inches I am pulling it out. I predict that he will be in an 80 gal (alone) very soon until I figure out what to do with him.

In the meantime I am shopping for a small Tirginus. I was turned on to that fish by the members of this forum and it is really cool.
