How to bait hooks with live fish

Hi I plan on fishing with live fish and I was wondering how to put the fish on the hook without killing it?

Simply hook the baitfish above its lateral line/spine and below it's dorsal fin.

I always hook them in their tail, gills, goldfish, usually last the longest this way. I caught this 51lb and 36lb on a goldfish, both goldfish were out for over 5 hours total, with 2 recasts and were just as lievely as they were in the buckets.
