today i put fish pellets dog food and bread in a nylon stocking (pantiehoes) caught nothing what is a good way to bait it mostly what to put bait in?

youve gotta experiment. some lake/fish like certain things others like other things try: corn-ive heard cut up fish entrails attract well and alot of other things

my trap has holes in it it will fall out what can i put it in and have same effectiveness as it lose.

I don't think your bait is a problem, you need to throw the trap where there are fish

what should i put the bait in? i see fish at where im going today i went to a poopy pond it has barely any minnows.

Be sure you are using white bread, for some reason or another bait fish love white bread way more then wheat bread. I use a metal mesh trap like this and set it in a deep slow hole on a very small stream and catch all the chubs I could ever want. I don't use dog food the last time I did I caught a huge mudpuppy! How it slipped through that tiny little hole to get my dog food was beyond me.:screwy:lol

I agree. Try setting closer to rocky outcrops by the shore. You may want to throw the trap out farther, but if there is no ground cover for small fish to hide in, you won't catch any.

No? Just leave it over night. It won't get that soggy. Mudpuppys are sweet, but I think they would escape way to easily from a tank. I mean if it squeezed through that tiny cone hole it could easily crawl out by the filter.
