well just grow it.

what they do in bonsai. Is to cut the roots, and trim the branches. also give it fertilizers.

I have an open top 10g aquarium...and would kinda like to do this in a back corner...I think the roots growing down would look awesome...the question is even if you can keep it small enough to stay under the lights, how much light is it going to block? Dont know if the tradeoff is worth it.

a seedling you don't have to cut the roots just keep trimming te new growth but don't over trim and stress the plant out

Post pictures when you get these plants and how you do it. I would love to see the whole process in pictures. Not quite sure how you would get them started in an aquarium.

Mangroves don't like to be pruned. If you take off too many leaves the whole plant will die. You should not remove more than a pair of leaves at a time.

i dont want to prune them but mine are growing very quickly i only want to make sure they stay under the lights how do i cut the new growth do i cut at a angle or straight so it keeps growing

If you're worried about light, give it its own light source. In order to keep it at a manageable size for a ten gallon, you will have to trim the roots every year or two, and this will involve a major tear down of the tank. You also should not do a major root prune without removing some leaves as well. And removing too many leaves will hurt the mangrove since this a a way that they get rid of salt and regulate there moisture.
