How to breed plecos?

Hi all,

I just joined this forum so this is my first posting. I came across the forum while searching the web for info on bristlenose. I have had them spawn in the past but then went a long time without them spawning. I realised that maybe I was under feeding them so remedied that and also did a major water change and they spawned last month. It was a good spawning of well over one hundred babies. In the tank I had two females and one male. I wondered which female was the mother so removed one and also all the babies. Also did a water change. The weather also made a dramitic change last night to very cold hail and sleet. This morning they spawned but maybe not so many eggs present as last time but cant tell for sure as dont want to disturb dad and eggs. So now I know which is the mother, well at least on this occassion. I am wondering now if both females are in tank with one male will he mate with them both at the same time? Am I best to get another male for the female I removed? Or should I put her back at some stage and let him have two wives? Another thought is that it was very hard to catch all those last lot of babies, I wonder what the result would be if after this recent spawn is free swimming out of the pot should I remove the parents, and relocate them to another suitable sized tank? it would sure be easier to move them than babies. I know its a lot of questions all at once, hope that is ok.

my cousins plecos bred in a 50 gal...however only one survived..the only survivor is now currently sticking to the walls of my 120+ gallon

i dont really know what to say to this because i've tried to breed them too, i have 3 coomon plecos now, and 6 longfin albino bristlenose plecos. in a 55, and its intresting to be that my friend bred the albino plecos in a 10 gallon tank. but, i think it was because before that he had them in his 90g pond, which would make sence. he keeps them in the pond in summer, tank in winter. but the weird thing about it is that they kept on breeding in the 10g without being put back in the pond.
