Hey Mosquito, let me know if you need large male Tem. I have them in Singapore. Or better yet, send you Azul over to me. I been fishing for pbass for years and have been fascinating about their origin. Perhaps by crossing them we understand more about all cichla subspecies.

i dont see how cross breeding OR fishing (for sport in a non-native country) would ever help to understand cichla species (subspecies??).

Probably the females are in Singapore. You know I am kidding about the azul don't you?

Go back to my post...I said they bred in his community tank and he then seperated them into their own tank. That didnt last and he switched the Piquiti with his male Orino.

This thread has gone too far. Really all that's happening is a guy has 2 tems and an azul in a tank. Nothing unusual about that. Anyone can post a thread saying I want this fish to breed with this one.

Mosquito, welcome to the forum, dont let these guys get you down, there nobody's. Some just have more knowledge and think they own this forum because people look up to their advice, or because they have oddball fish here that most of us cant get to, but the truth is their jealous if you can make it happen. not quite. im sure he meant that you made it seem as though your holy opinion was the only correct one. and all those who dont see it your way or dont please you are ignorant, worthless, and insignificant.

you probably need an oxygen mask at all times. stomping around with your nose so high, the air has GOT to be pretty thin up there

Don't you think your opinion on a subject is the only correct one? If you don't think your opinion is correct then why bother even sharing it? I'm sure those that think hybridization is fine feel that their opinion on the subject is correct and that I'm dead wrong for oposing it. It's not me sharing my opinion that upset people, it's that fact that I strenuously disagree with them. It upsets them that anyone could think their opinion is so dead wrong.

I also find it odd that people will post a thread asking, "What do you think of this?" or "Do you think this will work?" and then get so upset when someone disagrees with them. If all you want is to hear how cool you are and how great your ideas are, that's what mommy is for.

On this specific subject... Ignorant? Yes. Worthless and insignificant? Not at all. I'm sure that most everyone that is pro-hybrid are awesome people. I just disagree with them on this particular subject.

Ending your insult with a smiley face does not make it any less of an insult. You might as well kick me in the nuts and then say, "just kidding".

Let me just say that it is a subject that I'm very passionate about. It has nothing to do with arrogance or my feeling holier than thou. I don't think I'm any better than the pro-hybrid crowd. I just feel they are wrong on this subject. Again, that's my opinion and I feel I have every right to voice it regardless of how many people tell me I'm wrong.

My biggest problem is so many people who hybridize or are for hybridization are for it simply because "it would be cool to see what they look like" yet don't think for a second what the ramifications may be both for the hobby and possibly wild populations. To me it's like someone pouring a barrell of oil in a lake and then lighting it on fire "just to see how cool it looks". Great, it looks cool to watch water burn... nevermind all the damage you just did.

In any case, I've said what I needed to and everyone knows where I stand. I'm sure there will be several more negative posts regarding me an my attitude to follow. I'll do my best to resist posting anymore on the subject.
