How to bring out the colors in my Red Tail Catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The thing with rtc whatever they can't digest will get regurgitated which is a problem with clean water when older but as for the tails they can digest most of it an it will really bring the colors out in the tail and fins. In the wild they love to eat crustaeceans so shrimp tail isn't a big deal and the garlic isn't just any garlic extract from the store it's specifically made for aquarium use and is all organic and safe with all types of fish, scaleless fish, plants, and invertebrates. I use it in all my tanks even my feeder breeding tank

As I understand it, the organic pigment that makes RTC's tail red is mostly contained in the shells of crustaceans, rarely would flesh/tissue have any of it. Do any of you argue that garlic in and of itself will give an RTC colors? I never thought that. I always thought and read that garlic is just an appetizer, used for fishes with appetite problems or when switching diets. Also, I just squeeze fresh garlic and put the puree on the fish food or soak it in the juice/puree. It could be cheaper than buying from an LFS, but I am open to learning pros and cons of freshly squeezed versus LFS garlic you guys can offer.
