I've been told toothpaste works too

Ive used toothpaste many times to even scratches out of a cars paint because of it being a mild abrasive- but after it evens the scratch out it still needs polishing and waxing- toothpaste alone on an acrylic tank will probably have a very dull, frosted glass look to it
