How to build a monster fish pond?

How about something solar? I've seen solar water heaters that use black colored tubes to heat water and a pump to circulate it. You get plenty of sun in Fl and you would only pay for the energy of pumping the water. Not sure how large of a system it would take but at least you would add heat at a reasonable cost.

smitty is correct think of alll those cichlids let loose in florida they survive the winters there

From what I've been able to find there were few to no fish-kills of the squillions of invasives in south Fla waters reported this or last winter. Only things that died were the already endangered native corals. A cover should do it, and if you're paranoid make the cover out of 3" styro and pipe a warm water drip from the house.

Thanks guys! Really shows there are people Out there that love the hobby! I'll see what I can do about a cover and a heater set up!
