how to build an acrylic tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well is there anyone in arizona that would be willing to help me out if i bought all the supplies and came to you?

thank you ill see what i can gather from it. but once again, anyone who has some personal experience doing something this size, any tips or tricks u learned would be great.... id really rather not be posting the lessons learned section on this tank build....

oh any matt... garfs plans are limited. when i tried putting in the dimension i kept getting garf doesn't think i should go more than 48 inches long or garf doesnt think i should go more than 24 inches high. i think thier calculator is based more for people who are wanting to do small i guess you could say "common household" sized aquariums... regardless thank you for letting me know about the site, did get some ideas.

So how much is the acrylic to build this tank?

im not sure yet. first i need to make sure its doable either way im well aware of the costs being high

So how can you presume that this will be cheaper than buying a tank?

ANYTHING is possible. But IF it was so cheap and easy don't you think you'de be able to find a few write ups of people on this site building thier own monster acrylic tanks?

well i was able to pull a rough estimate of 1500 dollars for acrylic locally and i figure supplies round about another 500 is fair considering what ive read. which beats the 5000 dollar plus price range of a new tank. but i also understand the risks and the chance of failure being so great
