Generally speaking the care for these is about the same as with any large cichlid. Clean stable water conditions. These are omnivorous so a pellet staple with some vegetable matter is good something with spirulina would be good.
They will destroy plants and they are fairly aggressive so they need to be kept with fish that can keep up.
These come from areas with brackish water so
I use to keep a few in a species tank and would add some salt to the water they seem to do better showing better colors.
I have read they can take full strength saltwater but I never tried that.
They can get pretty big too so they will need an appropriate size tank.

What food would be the best variety that I can feed them
A variety is best so any food listed shouldn't be solely relied upon. Start with a good pellet as a staple. Spirulina,is an algae based food. Worms. Krill, sheets of nori, spinach, green peas, green beans. Aquatic Snails if you can get them. There are lots of frozen fish foods, try to keep the vegetables content up.

Thank you so much that was what I needed to know. Now how about tank size what would you recommend
