How to care for a black belt chiclid

Here in Panama, they venture into the ocean to graze on marine algae, I believe the extra iodine is very healthy for them. So a pellet made for salt water vegetarian species might be useful. They are also known to wait under trees with branches that hang over the river and have ripening fruit such as figs.
They can be very hard on each other, or any other high bodied, silver fish so the sooner you get them in the 280 the better.
That aggression is why I personally would "not" keep them with any other Vieja type.
The tolerance for saline conditions, and high state of aggressiveness may be a couple reasons they are the most wide spread and successful Vieja.
